Welcome to the Landes department, with its magnificent 106 km coastline boasting some of Europe's longest beaches. Famous spots for surfing, kite surfing, paddling, kayaking... no less than 15 seaside resorts flourish in this area: Biscarosse, Mimizan, Contis, Vieux Boucau-les-Bains, Seignosse, Hossegor, Capbreton, Ondres...

You can also enjoy water sports a little further away from the ocean, on the region's many crystal-clear lakes, which offer superb unspoilt landscapes surrounded by pine trees: the lakes of Arjuzanx, Port-d'Albret, Soustons...

Of course, you can't mention the Landes without thinking of its majestic pine forests, most of which are located in the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park. There are no less than 336,000 hectares spread over two départements (Gironde and Landes) that you can enjoy on horseback, by bike, on foot or in a canoe on the Leyre, with 90km of navigable waterways. A natural environment unrivalled in Europe, this area is home to exceptional biodiversity and boasts unique flora and fauna.

The Landes is a major thermal resort region, with a number of renowned spas: Dax alone boasts 17 spas, as well as Eugénie-les-Bains, Préhacq-les-Bains and Saubusse.
